What is STRGuestReviews.com?
A free, private community where verified short-term rental hosts record factual reviews of guests they have hosted, so other hosts can check a guest's history before a stay.
Does it work with Airbnb, Vrbo and direct bookings?
Yes. It works for stays booked anywhere, because hosts enter the guest and stay details themselves. STRGuestReviews.com has no connection to Airbnb, Vrbo or any other booking platform and is not affiliated with them.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. STRGuestReviews.com is free for verified hosts.
Who can join?
Short-term rental hosts who are at least 18 and located in the United States. Each account belongs to one person and is confirmed by email. Guests cannot create accounts.
How do I look up a guest?
Search by the guest's name, email address or phone number. Email addresses and phone numbers are stored as one-way hashes and shown only in masked form, such as the last four digits of a phone number.
What goes into a review?
The rental and stay dates; a one-to-three-star rating in four categories (House Rules, Property Condition, Financial and Guest Conduct); optional incident flags such as unauthorized parties or property damage; whether you would rent to the guest again; and an optional short summary. Every review requires you to confirm it reflects your own first-hand experience.
How are unfair or false reviews prevented?
Every host agrees at sign-up that this is not a slander site: reviews must be first-hand, factual and specific. The Terms require supporting evidence for severe allegations and prohibit discriminatory content. Hosts can report a review, moderators can hide reviews that break the rules, and every moderation decision is kept in an audit log.
Can guests see what has been written about them?
Guests cannot browse the site, but anyone who may have been reviewed can request their record from the "Reviewed here? See your record" page and contest anything inaccurate. The record shows each review's date, overall rating and summary, but not which host wrote it. To see the full detail of a review, or if your record is not found by email, write to legal@strguestreviews.com.
Can I use it for tenant, employment or credit screening?
No. STRGuestReviews.com is only for informing your own short-term rental booking decisions. It may not be used for decisions about employment, credit, insurance, housing tenancy or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Is it connected to STRHostReviews.com?
STRHostReviews.com is our sister site, where guests review hosts. Both are run by NorthStar Data Inc., but they are separate: different accounts, different reviews, and no shared information.
